He is an actor, singer and professionally trained violist. Slavi Trifonov albums as a singer are among the albums that are most expected by the public with a record circulation for the country. Together with his colleagues he has released 18 albums, each one of them being a real event on the Bulgarian music market. Trifonov's music genres are pop-rock, Bulgarian and Balkan folklore, pop-folk and punk, but he has experimented with other genres as a part of Ku-Ku Band.

He is the host of Slavi's Show, a late-night TV talk show in Bulgaria. It is styled after the standard U.S. late-night talk shows. It is similar to Jay leno’s show. Starting on Nov 27, 2000 Slavi’s Show became number one in the show business in Bulgaria and the Balkans. For the first time in the Bulgarian history a TV show, Slavi’s Show was nominated in the category evening talk show for the prestigious EMMY Awards 2002 Final. In 2002 Slavi Trifonov won also the special jury award for best entertainer at the Seventh International Festival for TV programs Barhat Seasons in Odessa, one of the most important TV festivals in the former Soviet republics.

In the early 1990s, together with several of his classmates at NATFIZ, Trifonov created Ku-Ku. In 1996, as a cast member of Kanaleto, he took an active role in the protests that eventually led to the fall of the socialist government.
. CUCKOO BAND
This is the house band that plays live in Slavi Trifonov's Show. Conductor of the Band is Evgeni Dimitrov - the Maestro, keyboard. Besides being a brilliant instrumentalist he has been orchestrating and composing a great part of the latest Bulgarian hits. All musicians in Cuckoo Band have a musical degree and among them there is a winner of the prestigious international Mozart Award, clarinetist Iliya Iliev. In the Band play also Georgi Miltchev - bass guitar, Tzvetan Nedialkov - solo guitar, Ivan Stoyanov - rhythm guitar, Evgeni Iotov - saxophone, Iordan Iontchev - trumpet, Venelin Venkov drums and percussion, Reidi Brizuela - percessions, Boris Soltarijski and Nelly Petkova- back vocals, Kristian Iliev - keybord. Cuckoo Band are masters of improvisation and have unique sound. Their performances range from classical music to rap and from folk music to rock and jazz. Among their last achievements is their interpretation of Ravel's classical piece "Bolero". The Band is one of the best in ethno-rock and is present in the updated music textbooks for the Bulgarian schools. One thing is for sure, 18 years after it was founded Cuckoo Band is now the most versatile Bulgarian pop-group, who created stars, whose records have sensational circulation for the Bulgarian market and who have at their disposal the high tech and expensive instruments and sound system.
